Where do our horns come from?

We are always asked, where do the horns come from. We use a mixture of horns from several sources. But we are always careful that the horns are ethically sourced. All our horns come from animals that are raised for meat and the entire animal is used. The horns are usually removed as part of the ranching process to protect the rancher and the other cattle.

Our Process:

1. Horns are washed and sanitized. We are very careful to clean our horns thoroughly. We care about no cracks or holes where bacteria can grow

2. Horns are dried for a full 24 hours

3. Insides of the horn is coated with our food safe coating and allowed to cure for 24 hours

4. Horns are then sanded by our sanding crew to a smooth finish. This process can take anywhere form 30 minutes to an hour for our large horns

5. Horns are washed and allowed to dry again.

6. Our signature copper rim is added

7. Horns are now ready for their first coat of our food safe coating and allowed to cure another 24 hours

8. Horns are sanded and washed again

9. Last coat of food safe coating is applied and cured 24 hours

10. leather strap is custom fit. Horns are ready for their new home!
